This is an opportunity for both parents and students to visit GBDSS and see the many outstanding programs, courses, and clubs being offered at the school. <strong> This evening Open House will be taking the place of the Grade 8 Day scheduled for January 30th.</strong> Please ensure that you and your Grade 8 student participate in this opportunity to visit GBDSS and learn of the programmes and opportunities available for your child in Grade 9. Our Giving Tree and Food Drive Giving Tree and Food Drive <p class="MsoNoSpacing">We are excited to welcome the Holiday season to Mundy’s Bay!<span>  </span>This year, our school family will be hosting the Hallway of Holidays, and asking for contributions to our mitten, scarf and hat tree, as well as our food drive for the local food pantry.<span>  </span>You can send your donations in with your child until December 18.</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">Thank you for your support!<span>       </span></p>
FI INFORMATION NIGHT IS NOVEMBER 26TH AT 6:00PM IN THE LIBRARY! INFORMATION NIGHT IS NOVEMBER 26TH AT 6:00PM IN THE LIBRARY! <p class="MsoNoSpacing">FI INFORMATION NIGHT IS NOVEMBER 26<sup>TH</sup> AT 6:00PM IN THE LIBRARY!</p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">Beginning this year, entry into the FI program will be determined through a digitally randomized lottery system. A link to access the Grade 1 FI online application form will be available starting at 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 2 until 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20. Once available, you will find the application link on the SCDSB website under Elementary, French as a Second Language. </p><p class="MsoNoSpacing">Enrolment into the FI Program in Grade 1 is limited to a maximum of 40 students per designated FI site. While every effort is made to accommodate all FI applications, available space and staffing will determine how many students can be registered. Parents/guardians can contact their school in advance if they do not have Internet access at home or require assistance accessing the online application. Transportation is available to students enrolled in FI or EFSL programs within their designated French site. Centralized community bus stops will be established to provide access for students to attend the specialized program. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to transport the student to and from the centralized stops at designated times for pick up and drop off. For more information, please refer to Policy 2410 – Transportation of Students and Administrative Procedures Memorandum A1225 – Transportation of Students – Courtesy Riders on Commuter and Program Transportation. Please note that the designated sites for FI may change during the program, which may also include splitting the program between two different sites.</p>
Spirit Wear! Wear!<p><span class="ms-rteFontSize-1">Did you know… that blue, silver and white are the Mundy's Bay school colours? That the compass rose is our school symbol and "Mundy's Bay Mariners…. Sail-On!" is our school chant? The development of school spirit is an important aspect of a student's school experience!  It promotes enthusiasm among students, building a sense of teamwork, belonging and pride in the community.</span></p><p><span class="ms-rteFontSize-1">With that in mind, we are pleased to be offering Mundy's Bay Spirit Wear for purchase at reasonable prices. This year, clothing items are an athletic-wear style and will be available in both navy blue and grey. Items include short sleeve t-shirts, $14.00 (great for gym class), long sleeve shirts, $18.00 and hooded sweatshirts, $30.00 with the Mundy's Bay logo.  Clothing samples and sizes will be available for you to look at in the office. Clothing can also be ordered using Cash-On-Line. </span><strong class="ms-rteFontSize-1">All orders will be due by November 15</strong><strong class="ms-rteFontSize-1"><sup>th</sup></strong><span class="ms-rteFontSize-1"> so that we receive our Spirit Wear by Christmas break. We will not be able to accommodate late orders. Clothing will be given to students once it arrives. Boston Pizza Fund Raising Program Pizza Fund Raising Program<p>​Mundy's Bay is a participant in the "Operation Education" program! Our school receives a 5% rebate (before tax) on all Boston Pizza receipts that are submitted daily. Simply write Mundy's Bay on your receipt, put it into the box at the front of the restaurant and they add up our results and update the Operation Education board monthly.<br></p>
