Mundy’s Bay School Council Meeting Minutes
Monday October 6, 2025


Present:  Ainslee Carpenter (Principal), Jason Beaton ( Vice-Principal) , Jennifer Ealey (Teaching Staff) , Victoria Whiteside ( Non teaching Staff), Tara Lynn Desjardins ( parent) Amanda Martyniuk (parent)


Ms. Carpenter welcomed Tara Lynn to the meeting and introductions to staff were made.
An overview of School Council and the role it plays within the school community was shared and discussed.
Tara Lynn was elected as School Council Chair for the 2025-2026 school year.
Principals Update:  Information was shared regarding the start up of  school , and some of the things we have planned for the upcoming year.  The Field trip and Fundraising plan and the new portal was shared with those present.  There was discussion regarding Haunted House fundraising evening, and our involvement with the Santa Claus parade.  We also discussed some new fundraising ideas- Amanda will look into Rocky Mountain Chocolate apple sales- perhaps to hold around Easter time…We will be working with a local apparel company to have an online School Spiritwear shop up and running soon.
Calendar and Events were discussed under section 4
Mme. Ealey shared that the school startup has been good, and that staff is looking forward to a great year!
Mrs. Whiteside had nothing other than what had already been shared regarding the startup of the year, and looking forward to a great year!!
The date of the next meeting is December 8 @ 6 pm….Victoria will send an email to everyone connecting us.

2. School Report: • Admin- update and explanation of both school based budget and SGF • Teaching • Non-Teaching

3. Budget update: School Generated Funds

4. Fundraising update: • Hot lunches • Poinsettias • Book Fair • Other

5. School Action & Equity Plan (SAEP) Jenn shared the SAEP around literacy- what the OGSMs are around. Hags shared Math OGSMs as well as the EQAO results and how we will use them to drive teaching modules etc...Ainslee shared Safe and Supportive schools OGSMs- results of school climate survey, ways we are supporting staff and students to increase metrics

6. Upcoming Events:

• Progress Reports home on Nov. 8th

• Progress Report Conferences week of Nov. 11-15; late night is Nov. 14th

• K-4 trip to King’s Wharf on Nov. 13th (volunteers needed)

• Grade 1 FI Information Night on Nov. 18th @ 6pm

• Celebrity Server Night Kelsey’s Restaurant (Grade 7/8 Fundraiser)

• OLSAT Gifted testing Nov. 26 • Literacy Curriculum Night on November 27th @ 5-7

• Santa Claus Parade on Sat. Nov. 30th (volunteers needed!)

A) Approval required to: Move school generated funds from the following accounts to supplement Eat Well to Excel funds Agendas: $804.28 School Clothing: $273.59 Therefore, a total of $1077.87 will be moved into the Eat Well to Excel account
